A Gentle Path into Botanical Art: Upcoming Course “Fundamentals of Botanical Art: From Traditional Botanical Illustration to Contemporary Botanical Art.”

Have you ever admired a botanical illustration and thought, “I’d love to try that, but I’m not sure I could”? You’re not alone. Many people feel drawn to the beauty of botanical art but hesitate to pick up a brush, worried it might be too difficult or time-consuming.

That’s exactly why I created my upcoming course: “Fundamentals of Botanical Art: From Traditional Botanical Illustration to Contemporary Botanical Art.”

This 4-week course (one day per week) is designed to be both inspiring and manageable. With time to reflect and practice between sessions, you’ll learn step by step, without pressure. Each week, I’ll introduce you to new skills, from observing plants and drawing flowers with accuracy, to understanding composition, exploring watercolor techniques, and discovering the bridge between traditional and contemporary styles.

To make your journey easier, I’ll also share my Botanical Art Teaching Diagrams, created to simplify complex ideas and make learning both clear and enjoyable. Each participant will receive personal homework tailored to their level, along with feedback in the next session, so progress feels natural and rewarding.

Whether you’re a complete beginner or an artist curious about the beauty of plants, this course is an opportunity to slow down, connect with nature, and discover the joy of creating botanical art.

📅 The course will run on the 17th, 24th, 31st October, and 7th November

📍 Location: The Hugo Burge Foundation, Marchmont Estate, Duns, TD10 6YL

I can’t wait to welcome you and share this journey into botanical art 🌸
